Ellis takes injured Brownlie’s place for T20s

All-rounder Andrew Ellis has been called up by New Zealand to replace the injured Dean Brownlie for the 2 T20 matches against Zimbabwe starting on 11th February in Auckland.

Brownlie suffered a fractured finger while fielding in the 2nd ODI and will miss the 3rd ODI and the T20 series.

Ellis made his international debut in the first ODI against Zimbabwe and had a decent outing with both bat and ball.

NZ coach, John Wright said that the T20s will give Ellis the opportunity to show how good a hitter he is.

“We would like to give Andrew the opportunity to show us his hitting power as he has not had the chance to spend a lot of time at the crease in this series.”
